The Credit Bureaus

You may already know that there are 3 credit bureaus: Equifax, Transunion and Experian. Each bureau maintains its own database of information on credit. It is said that 80% of credit reports include an error. Depending on what your creditors say or don't say about you will determine your credit score. Each credit bureau generates its own credit score based on the information in their own databases and so each credit bureaus score will be different. Your credit score is used by lenders to determine the risk they believe they are taking on by lending you money. The lower the score, the less likely they believe you will you will pay back the money borrowed on time. Credit scores range from 350-950 and the average is 660.
