Athena is the newest addition to the team of mortgage consultants at South Bay Funding Corp. She is the former President of Crestwood Mortgage, Inc, a role she held for 12 years. She decided to join South Bay Funding Inc. due to their excellence in customer care and diligence in finding the best mortgage for each borrower's situation and financial goals.
Athena was born in Washington DC and raised in Canada. She came to California to study violin and started working in the mortgage industry at the age of 21. She has a Master's degree in Spiritual Psychology, bachelor's degree in French, speaks French as well as some Spanish, and is divorced with no children.
She has worked in all facets of the mortgage process and can foresee and help avoid many of the pitfalls that happen to consumers if they are unaware. She was the youngest FHA underwriter in Los Angeles County to approve FHA 203k loans at the age of 23, funded her first ZERO Down payment loan in 1993, and has helped over 2500 families attain the dream of financial security through homeownership over her 17 year career.
She is a guest speaker for the investment property class at Torrance Unified School District Adult School, for the Southern California Escrow Association, and other professional and civic organizations. She is a real estate investor herself and draws from real life experience in advising clients who want to invest in anything from homes for retirement age, to apartment buildings or to the fix-and-flip investment.
